Welcome to GATE Prep! By accessing or using our web application (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. User Accounts

To use most features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate. You are responsible for safeguarding your account password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. You may not share your account credentials.

3. Use of the Service

GATE Prep grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial GATE preparation purposes, subject to these Terms. The Service provides tools for organizing study plans, tracking progress, and accessing links to external resources like GO Classes and GATE Overflow.

4. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• Using the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law.
• Violating or infringing upon the intellectual property rights or privacy rights of others.
• Attempting to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security of, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the Service.
• Uploading invalid data, viruses, worms, or other software agents through the Service.
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service, user accounts, or related systems or networks.
• Using the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it.
• Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to discover the source code of the Service.
• Sharing, selling, renting, or leasing access to your account or the Service.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content defined below, and excluding third-party content linked to), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of GATE Prep and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

Content from GO Classes and GATE Overflow remains the intellectual property of those respective platforms. Our Service provides organizational tools and links; we claim no ownership over their content.

6. User Content

You may be able to input data related to your study progress ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By providing User Content, you grant us a license solely to use, store, and display it within the Service for the purpose of providing the features to you (e.g., generating schedules, showing progress). We do not claim ownership rights over your study notes or personal progress data beyond what's necessary to operate the Service.

7. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service includes links and organizational features related to third-party resources like GO Classes and GATE Overflow. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, privacy policies, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and policies. GATE Prep is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by GO Classes or GATE Overflow.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You can terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using account deletion features if available.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that defects will be corrected. Your use of the Service is solely at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall GATE Prep, its affiliates, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including without limitation damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the use of, or inability to use, the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide reasonable notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
